Full-Mouth Restoration with Crowns, Onlays & Composite Bonding

This patient presented with severe, generalized wear throughout his mouth. Years of wear had left many of his teeth significantly thinner and shorter, with some of his front teeth having very little remaining tooth structure. Although the teeth were heavily worn, the supporting bone remained healthy, giving us an important opportunity to preserve as much of his natural teeth as possible.

Because of the extent of the wear, Dr. Holland recommended a comprehensive approach rather than treating individual teeth as problems arose. The first priority was to re-establish a stable, healthy bite and protect the remaining tooth structure.

The patient's front teeth were too thin to predictably support traditional crowns. Instead, they were carefully rebuilt with composite material to restore their shape and function while preserving the natural teeth underneath. The back teeth were also rebuilt to establish a more stable bite and provide a proper foundation for the next phase of treatment.

Once the bite was stabilized, the remaining teeth were restored with a combination of custom crowns and onlays, carefully designed to improve strength, function, and appearance while conserving as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

The final result was a stronger, more balanced smile and a healthier foundation for long-term dental function. A custom nightguard and fluoride therapy were also incorporated to help protect the restorations and natural teeth from future wear.

This case demonstrates the importance of addressing severe tooth wear early. With careful planning, it is often possible to preserve natural tooth structure, restore function, and create a smile that is both beautiful and built for long-term health.
